About SOLOLOS

A multi-tradition platform of astrological intelligence: a single sky, computed with rigour, read by the thirteen schools humanity built to understand it. Educational for those who are learning, professional for those who practise, and reproducible as science for those who investigate — three callings under one roof.

The rescue

Part of humanity's astrological knowledge was burned — literally. In 1562, at the auto-da-fé of Maní, bishop Diego de Landa gave the sacred Maya books to the flames; of the codices that held centuries of watching the sky, barely a handful survive, scattered through the libraries of Europe. Another part was not burned: it moulders — kept in archives almost nobody opens, written in languages almost nobody reads, sliced into traditions that never speak to one another.

SOLOLOS exists as an ethical rescue of that inheritance: to make the knowledge reachable for those who are learning, to organise it with the maturity that empowers those who practise, and to make the research reproducible for those who want to put it to the test — with every source in plain sight, every tradition in its own vocabulary, and the difference between a documented finding and a tradition's memory always said out loud.

To set free

This is not a horoscope. The astrology this place honours exists to set the human being free: to help one know oneself, recognise one's own patterns — and transmute one's own chart rather than obey it. The natal chart is not a sentence; it is the portrait of a starting point. What one makes of the journey is the traveller's own work. That is why every archetype here is told with light AND shadow: nobody transmutes what they were never allowed to see.

And it holds for everything this place shows, from the sky of this moment to the deepest journey through time: nothing here is an omen — it is the sky, measured and offered to the eye; what one makes of the day belongs to whoever lives it.

The pole star

Precision of data

Positions to the arc second (Swiss Ephemeris); only Rodden AA/A charts in the research base; every datum shows where it came from.

The engine is what calculates

No text on this site invents a number: the language intelligence (the future AI included) only understands the question and tells the result — what calculates, always, is the astronomical engine. The separation is absolute, and it can be audited.

Honour to ancestral knowledge

Each tradition is presented in its own vocabulary, none reduced to the shape of another. An honest distinction between a living tradition and a modern reconstruction.

Scientific reproducibility

The inner structure is versioned: research done today can be redone identically in the future. Astrology's 'Our World in Data'.

Radical privacy

Charts of living people only in private mode; deceased people (AA/A) in an open research base. Your data is yours (export or erase it at any time).

Simplicity is sophistication

A simple surface, depth a cursor away. Objectivity, clarity, accessibility — with no gratuitous mysticism and no sceptic's cynicism. The road to simplicity is complex — and depth means depth, never the shallows.
